Kentfield is an exclusive town located at the base of Mt. Tamalpais. Named after the family of Albert and Adaline Kent, the town is situated on land donated by the Kents in the late 1800s. Nearby Muir Woods is another donation made by the Kent family. With just under 6,500 residents at the last census and located only 14 miles from San Francisco, Kentfield is the perfect location for those ready to move out of the city and into a small town.
The Marin County Board of Supervisors govern the town of Kentfield. The board is known to take the wishes of the residents into consideration and to pay close attention to matters such as development. The community is focused on preserving the close knit feel of Kentfield, has great public schools, and easy access to shopping, making it a desirable location to raise a family.
